James "Jim" Lewis, a graduate of Poca High School, is the Regional Supervisor for benefits operations for the Southern part of the state. He is a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class with many assignments during his service, including two overseas tours in Korea. Jim also served in Ogden, Utah; Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Willingboro, New Jersey; and Sellersville, Pennsylvania.
Lewis has served in many roles, such as Power Generation Shop Foreman, Wheeled Vehicle Maintenance Shop Foreman, and Motor Sergeant at Company and Battalion levels. His final position was as a Recruiter and Station Commander in the greater Philadelphia area. He retired in 2005 after 22 years.
In 2007, Lewis joined the department as a Veteran Service Officer in the Department’s Logan Office. He also served as the Claims Supervisor in Huntington. He was promoted to Regional Supervisor in 2018. He considers what he does with the Department a calling rather than a job.
